Maximum Lake Baikal Tour — Olkhon + CBZD + Sayan 9 Days / 8 Nights

Our journey begins in Irkutsk — the historic capital of Eastern Siberia. At 09:00 (Irkutsk local time) we meet our guests at the airport and railway station. Our staff member will be waiting with a "Baikal Legends" sign. Departure at 10:00 by minibus toward Lake Baikal and Olkhon Island (approx. 6 hours).

The road winds through picturesque Siberian landscapes where lush forests give way to endless steppes — and soon Lake Baikal greets you with its gentle breeze. The ferry crossing through the Olkhon Gate strait takes 15–20 minutes. Check-in to your accommodation. Free time to rest and get your cameras ready — exciting days lie ahead!

Welcome meeting with your guide — your guide will share the plan for the coming days, recommend the best spots for souvenirs and reveal local secrets.

4WD excursion to Cape Khoboy — the northernmost point of Olkhon Island. A place of extraordinary energy and beauty with five stops at the most scenic locations on the northern part of the island. Listening to legends of Baikal, you will understand why life moves at a different pace here and why the locals revere their ancestors and homeland so deeply. Views across the widest stretch of Lake Baikal — on a clear day you can see the Holy Nose Peninsula and the Buryat shore 80 km away.

Outdoor lunch prepared by your guides. Return to hotel — dinner and free time.

Walking excursion to Cape Burhan (Shaman Rock) — the most iconic landmark on Lake Baikal, featured on countless postcards and books. This sacred site in Buryat shamanism possesses extraordinary spiritual energy — your guide will reveal its fascinating secrets.
Visit to the largest souvenir and art shop on the island — paintings by local artists, handmade wooden and stone crafts, gemstone jewelry and herbal teas.
Khuzhir Local History Museum — over 5,000 unique exhibits about island life, culture and history.
Free time. Optional: sunbathing on Saraisky Beach (3 km of white sand, water up to +23°C in August). (Excursion takes place within Khuzhir village.)

The evening is yours to explore this remarkable historic city — admire its outstanding 19th-century wooden architecture, stroll along the Angara River embankment and discover the charming old town streets.

Full-day excursion along the Circum-Baikal Railway (CBZD) — one of the most scenic railway routes in Russia. 89 km along the southern shore of Lake Baikal with 39 tunnels and over 400 bridges and viaducts built in the early 20th century.

The journey combines three modes of transport: bus, ferry and train. An experienced guide shares fascinating stories about Baikal and the remarkable history of this legendary railway. Several stops of 30–90 minutes with short walking excursions along the dramatic lake shore. Free time for photography in some of the most stunning scenery in Siberia.

Walking excursion through Arshan — a picturesque resort at the foot of the Eastern Sayan Mountains. Follow a beautiful forest trail along the scenic Kyngarga River canyon to a powerful waterfall. Visit the exotic local market with Siberian herbs and souvenirs. Taste mineral spring water of different compositions from the famous healing sources.

Excursion to the Bodhi Dharma Buddhist Datsan — a serene introduction to Buryat Buddhist culture.
