Lake Baikal Tours 2026 — Choose Your Adventure

Lake Baikal is the world's deepest and oldest lake, holding one-fifth of the Earth's fresh surface water. Standing on its shore for the first time, most travelers say the same thing: "I had no idea it was this big." It is not a lake — it feels like an ocean.

Baikal Legends has been running tours to Lake Baikal since 2012. We offer summer and winter group programs departing every Tuesday and Saturday from Irkutsk, as well as individual tours on any date you choose.

Summer Tours to Lake Baikal

Summer on Baikal means crystal-clear water, sandy beaches on Olkhon Island, long sunny days and legendary sunsets. The water warms up to +18–23°C in August — perfect for swimming. Our summer programs range from 3 to 9 days, covering the most iconic destinations: Olkhon Island, the Circum-Baikal Railway, and the Sayan Mountains.

Winter Tours to Lake Baikal

Winter Baikal is a completely different world. The lake freezes to form ice so transparent you can see meters below the surface. Towering pressure ridges, frozen methane bubbles, ice grottos with stalactites — February and March on Baikal are truly unforgettable. This is one of the most unique winter experiences in the world.

Departures every Tuesday and Saturday from Irkutsk. Contact us to book your tour or ask any questions — we respond within 15 minutes.
